MIKKELLER BEER QUASI-COMMERCIAL

Ah yes, the classic "Abroad changed me... I'm a new person..." I called bullshit until I went. And quite honestly, I owe my classes abroad to my passion for pursuing a career in the agency world. One of the five incredible ad-centric classes I took with DIS Copenhagen was called "Designing Communication Campaigns," in which I had the opportunity to work with a real Danish client. We got lucky and landed on the coolest brand in town: Mikkeller Beer. Spunky, edgy, experimental, Mikkeller is truly the heart of metro Copenhagen.

THE ASK

Create a quasi-commercial and print ad for a younger, more international audience. 

THE APPROACH

Mikkeller's brand is irreverent. It owns this quirky, comradely aesthetic, while toying with dark humor. Our team took a risk by taking more light-hearted approach juxtaposing their prior commercials. After tangent  arrived at a love story: jokes on the dude, Mikkeller stole her heart.

THE ROLE

I served as my team's account manager, working with the guys in the Mikkeller office, communicating our ideas and voicing concerns along the way. We met multiple times each week and developed a strong, playful relationship.
